Christmas Hamper
The competition proved close with Graeme Syme and Nigel Ward returning 37 points. Graeme was declared the winner on a back 9 count back. Arthur Dolby was a creditable 3rd and best lady was Jayne Maxwell (34). Results…

Ladies
With ice and snow on the greens it was more like crazy golf. The format was a Texas Scramble team game but with only 5 ladies the competition did not take place. Despite all that it was a great day to be out playing golf.
Men
A small field braved the remnants of recent snow and found testing conditions on a number of greens. Nevertheless some good scores were returned and Graeme Syme emerged the winner on 69, one ahead of Gurpal Sekhon and Tony Kopczak. Results…

The coldest day of the year so far dawned for the Champagne Chase with temperatures of -4 degrees centigrade and less, frosty fairways even frostier greens and some very strange bounces! A sparkling 40 points earned Tony McCullagh victory in the competition and a bottle of champagne. Bubbling nicely 2 points behind was Jim Fogarty with an effervescent Kerry Sargeant taking 3rd place with 36 points. Conditions were tricky with a hard frost in the ground. Winter Comp / Dukes Eclectic

Nine brave Ladies turned up to play the the first round of the Dukes Eclectic on the day after the night before, the Dinner Dance and Prize giving, of course. In overcast and muddy conditions, the winner was Susan Smith achieving an excellent 37 points. Second was Val Riziotis with 33 points. Results…

After all her hard work in helping to arrange the Dinner Dance, Veronica Mitchell was rewarded with a hole in one on the third. Many congratulations Veronica! The hole in one was duly celebrated with a few beers afterwards, even though the café shuts early these days!

Conditions were played off white tees in ‘the wrong kind of mud’ which no doubt distracted a number of competitors. It was just right for heavy going specialist Matt Mandelbaum who won with a very creditable 40 points, 7 ahead of nearest rival Nick Rogers – earning a 4 playing shot reduction. Results…
