Bob Ardern won the Association Trophy with a 62 but Simon Hallam for RP came 5th on 65 with Tony Kopczak a shot behind. Ladies handicaps were not adjusted in the overall result, but in the RP competitor’s result they received 3 shots, placing Christine Brazier first with a glorious 65 on a countback from Simon Hallam. Another hot sunny day with running balls but increasing wind hosted the second round of the Club Championship, Handicap and Pembroke Cups.
Club Championship

A very hot, sunny day was the back drop to the first round of the Club Championship and Handicap and Pembroke Cups. The intrepid competitors played hard on a dry course where the ball was running fast and in 30 degree temperatures. It was a small (but quality) group of players who all had fun on the day.

Whitewebbs – Rd 1 at Hoebridge
Result: Loss 3-2
Harriet, Di, Veronica, Cheryl and Susan played against Hoebridge Ladies who were the finalist last year.
It was a closely contested match that went right up to the last game, but sadly we lost 3-2 to an extremely tough opposition. Harriet and Cheryl held their own very convincingly winning 3-2 and 5-4 respectively.
Well done to everyone for coming so close against a very good team.
Golden Jubilee
The day started with a nip in the air and was breezy. Early clubhouse leader Paul Grand was eventually toppled by one shot by Nick Rogers with a carefully crafted 65. Tony Kopczak and Steve Cross took 3rd & 4th places 68. Best lady Jayne Maxwell 5th on 69. Results…
