Ladies
Club Championship
First round leader, Sheena, kept to the fairways to extend her lead and win the ladies’ Club Championship for the first time with a score of 171 (Rd1: 86, Rd2: 85). In second place was Suzanne with a 179 (Rd1: 88, Rd2: 91). Lia also had an 85, including 2 birdies, in this round, and gets her handicap cut by 1.8. Final result…

Positions remain unchanged after the second round of the Handicap Cup with Sheena maintaining her lead to finish with a net 139 over the two rounds, followed by Kate on a net 147. Final result…

Jini also kept her winning position after the second round finishing on a net 146, however in second place Gina was overtaken by Julie Smyth who finished on a net 151. Final result…

Summer finally returned for the first round of the club championship and after the first round there are 3 players within 3 shots of each other at the top of the leaderboard.

Men
In the men’s Club Championship Mike Rowe shot the lights out with a gross 73 net 61 to lead the senior division by one from Shaun Feldon. Mike eagled the 18th in a blazing finish and joins the group of 4 with eagles this year. Results…

Monthly Medal
Ladies
Despite the apparently benign conditions, the ladies didn’t find the conditions particularly easy, with no one playing to handicap, which is unusual in a summer month. Congratulations go to Ann Gardner who has won her first monthly medal in some time. Ann and Jayne both recorded net 73s with Ann piping Jayne to first spot on the back 9. Results…
Four birdies were recorded today: Johanna and Sheena on the 4th, Christine Brazier, the 10th and Sheena on the 11th.
Men
Brett Colley and Russell Cavell shot cracking 64s with Brett the winner on a back 6 count back. Third was Nigel Ward from Tony McCullagh both returning 67s. Results…
A lost ball on 6 forced an ‘NR’ from Kerry Sargeant who nevertheless scored gross 66 on 17 holes and was cut .4 with a deemed net double bogey 6 on 6th.

Hawtree – Team A Rd 3 v Bird Hills
Result: 1-4 loss
We got through to round 3 and played Bird Hills away.
A strong fight was put up but unfortunately we were unable to get through to the next round. Birds Hills won 3 of the matches and we halved two. Well done to Graeme & Jayne and Jon & Kate for their halves.
The other teams were Shaun Feldon &Lia Donath, Paul Doran & Val Riziotis and Kerry Sergeant & Susan Smith.
Richmond Park Golf Club Open
The Richmond Park Open attracted 75 competitors with Jon Cooksley (PP) the winner on 63 with Paul McConnell 2nd on a count back from Brad Sutherland (PP) both with 65s.
The scoring standards were overall high but CSS for men remained at SSS 70. Nearest the pins and longest drives are as indicated on the results sheet. Results…
Amida Friendly
Both the Ladies and the Men’s teams finished first in their respective matches. Results…
Amida
Result: 3-0 & 2½-½
The annual friendly against Amida (now known as David Lloyd Hampton) was played out in near perfect conditions on the Dukes course.
The ladies avenged their 3-0 away loss last year with a 3-0 win at home. The victorious ladies were Doreen Dolby & Nina Humphreys, Lia Donath & Jini Beacham, and Gina Jillet & Alison Chadwick.
The men, who also suffered away defeat last year, romped away with 2 matches and the 3rd match was halved narrowly missing out on a clean sweep. The men’s team blooded some new talent and included Tom Chase & Stuart McDonald, Osman Choudry & Andrew Byrne and Arthur Dolby & John Cooper.
