Captains’ Day

Honours Board

The Captains had kindly laid on summer for their day and a record number of ladies, for 2012, turned out to play and fight their way through the rough of RP.

Not only did she lead the day in game 1, but she also lead the scoring from start to finish and the Lady Captain, Susan Smith, managed to cut her handicap in a reduction only day for the rest of the field. With a net 72 she beat Jayne Maxwell on 74 and Jini Beacham and Sheena Harrington who were two shots further back on 76. Results…

The Captains provided entertainment on the way round for all, with 2 questions relating to captains on each hole and Susan presented each of the ladies with a gift for the day.

Golden Jubilee

There was some very good scoring in difficult conditions. Danny Deprez came out of the pack to win with a 62, two ahead of Jon Cooper who returned 64 for the second week running. Paul Appleton was 3rd with 65 and Nigel Ward and Steve Byers followed one behind with 66s. Results…

In the associated Anniversary Trophy Danny leads by 8 from Paul McConnell. Best lady was Rianda Markram 6th with 70. The Ladies received 4 shots.

Only 5 ladies contested the July medal on what turned out to be a none too pleasant day weather-wise, compounded by very slow play and a round of over 5 hours. The Lady Captain, Susan Smith proved victorious by one shot with a net 74 to beat Jini Beacham into second place. Results…
