Bogey

Mid-Spring conditions prevailed with the cold north-easterly winds not encroaching from the East. The rough was punishing and all but one green (the fourth) was slow and woolly.

The early clubhouse leader appeared to be Captain Jon but scrutiny revealed marker awarding a win at 10 whereas a half was appropriate. Charles Ajani became the winner 6-up on back 9 count back from Jon. Third was first lady Susan on count back from Ken Ukoko being 5-up. Susan benefited from scrutiny where a 6 at 10 was a win not a half as awarded by marker. Ladies received 4 shots allowance. Results…

Basking in sunshine at new clubhouse, members toasted John Fordham who scored his first hole in one at 16. Well done John!

The originally scheduled Ladies Committee Cup Rd 2 has been postponed, date to be advised.

Summer Cup / May Stableford

Ladies

Having won the Ladies’ Invitation on Saturday, Alison Chadwick followed up her evident return to form by also winning the day’s stableford event with 37 points. Giang Chatelan, our newest lady member and playing in her first club competition, was a close second on 36 points. Results…

Ladies

Six ladies fought against thickening rough and windy conditions for the May Monthly Medal. Maureen Slade emerged the winner. The round was a RO for handicapping purposes. Results…

Platinum Jubilee

Surprisingly, the Bank Holiday weekend offered up a taste of summer although the lush grass on the fairways limited the amount of roll to the extent that CSS went up two shots to 72 for the men and 73 for the ladies.

Conditions didn’t affect either Gina Jillett or Ahmad Al-Bader who both continued their good runs of form to take 1st and 2nd place respectively. Gina took the honours with a net 68 followed by Ahmad on net 70 with Steve Cross one shot further back on 71. Results…

Congratulations go to our only junior (Ahmad) who now joins the ranks of the senior players with a CONGU handicap of 28.
