Captains’ Day

Posted in Competitions

Ladies
Honours Board

Thank you Ladies for a great turn out on Captains Day which was another sunny summer’s day with a fairly strong breeze along the way. It was a busy day, not only in trying to play golf but also in answering quiz questions whilst being Einstein in trying to manage the complex team scoring. The latter seemed beyond some teams which, I acknowledge, was demanding and a bit tough! I hope/think everyone enjoyed the day and again, thank you for your support.

Most importantly, Alison Chadwick’s recent improvement in form consolidated itself with an amazing net 61 to win by just the 6 shots from Sheena Harrington on 67. Alison’s performance has resulted in a 2.8 cut to take her down to 25 as the CSS remained at 68. Results…

Thanks….. & really well done Ali!

Here’s the ladies’ handicap list so Ali can look at her new handicap. Ladies – please note that Imen also got cut despite NR’ing because her other scores were sufficiently good! Ladies handicap list…

Jon played a captain’s innings, joining Ahmad with glorious 65s in summer conditions with a breeze. Clearly s***ks were dispelled and the pair were the early clubhouse leaders for a very long time until the very last game when Paul Patching posted 64 to be the creditable winner. Ed Henery and Paul Brown came 4th and 5th with SSS breaking 66s. The overall balance of play kept CSS at SSS 67. Results…

In the associated Top Dog Trophy, Paul Patching leads by two from Danny Deprez and three from Ed Henery. R4 Leader board…

Rickmansworth – Away Leg

Result: 3-3
Overall result: 7-5 win

for the first time in Seven Year’s our Men’s Team returned from Rickmansworth with the “Tricky Ricky” Cup. This is an annual match with both an away and home leg, which our boys won 7-5 !

An outstanding effort by some quality golfers in both fixtures! At one stage in the match the Rickmansworth Captain commented that he thought we had forgotten what the cup looked like! As you can imagine this was all the inspiration our Men’s Team needed 🙂 . Awesome Guys !

Click here for a photo taken the weekend after of the elusive Cup with many of the team to play the home or away legs.

Despite the sun scores were still on the high side with the CSS increasing by 2 shots. A new name at the top of the list is Caroline Stilwell, winning her first monthly medal with a net 71. In second place 3 shots behind was Molly Hood. Results…
