Ladies

With Duke’s showing the effects of the flooding, conditions underfoot were very muddy, leading to the inevitable low scoring from the ladies. As a results it was a reduction only round, so no changes to handicap are recorded for the 9 ladies who played.

The first ladies competition of 2013 was a team competition. 10 ladies in 5 teams of two played a game of two nines (best score on the front 9, both scores on the back nine). Conditions were very very muddy, lets hope they will improve!

The winners were Jayne and Susan with 54 points. Hot on their heels were Maureen and Gina with 53 points. Results…

Three players returned net 60’s, with Jim Fogarty winning on count back over Nigel Gaymond and Thomas Chase. Results…

Paul Grand won with 44 points, whilst Richard Owen was disqualified for a scorecard infraction after having returned what otherwise looked like a winning 48 points. Results…

It was a lovely day though rather soggy underfoot, 5 ladies were transformed into three teams of two (including a secret partner) taking part in a game of two nines (best score on the front nine and both scores on the back nine). The completion of her stint as lady captain seemed to spur Susan Smith on as the winner of the Champagne Chase for the ladies. Conditions underfoot on Princes did not lead to great scores, and Susan took the champagne with 30 points. In second place was Fiona Coombe on 29, followed by Lia Donath with 27.
