Amida
Result: 4-2 win
After a year off we ventured out again to play our annual mixed match against Amida at their course. Well, sort of mixed as from a team of 12 players they produced only two ladies!
We managed a win of 4-2. Good fun as usual and everyone enjoyed playing on their course.
A special thanks from the Ladies Captain. “Thanks to all those who played: Jayne, Lia, Fiona, Veronica, Doreen and Susan plus those who offered but we ran out of space!”

Mitcham Ladies – Home Leg
Result: 1-2 Loss
On a beautifully sunny but blustery day Richmond Park Ladies played a close match against Mitcham Ladies but lost by 2 games to 1.
The ball was running very well – too well in some cases – and we seemed to return with more balls than on the way out as hedges and ditches yielded some prize finds!
The return leg is to be played on the 8th August so we look forward to evening the score.
Mitcham Friendly
With full rain gear adorned and a continuous and deadly drizzle to endure, the formidable RPGC ladies – Val (Captain of the event), Susan(45er), Jayne, Doreen (Demon Putter), Maureen and Fiona successfully defeated the Mitcham Ladies by 3 nil (total aggregate score 6 nil) to regain the Annual Friendly Trophy which began in 1962.
Despite the drizzle there was only the best of hospitality -hot coffee to start and a scrumptious meal afterwards -from these friendliest of golfers the Mitcham Ladies. Long may this event continue!
Rickmansworth Friendly
Rogered, again 6-0.
Overall result 8½-3½ (home leg).

Rickmansworth Friendly
Result: 3½-2½
A most blustery day saw RPGC host Rickmansworth for the home leg of the annual friendly on “Dukes Phase 2”. A new look Richmond Park 12 was nearly an 11 due to the volume of traffic on Sutton Court Road. Having overcome that initial hurdle, it was a case of tiring out the visitors with the trek to the first tee.
There were a number of close matches, and at one stage RPGC trailed 1½-2½. Our players coped better with the at-times 3-club wind, though, and won the final two matches to pip Ricky at the post.
In the associated RPGC sweep, Steve Cross and Rick Smith won, collecting a commendable 48 points.
So a repeat of the 3½-2½ score line from the last two years. However, with our new-found depth, we are optimistic that the away result of (6-0) will not be repeated! And we might manage the first overall win for several years.
The date for the away leg is 17 August.
