UKPCC Finals

Stableford Sweep
There was a small field for this weekend’s competition with many away for the club autumn weekend outing and two of our number representing the club at the UKPCC finals. The runaway winner was Danny Deprez with 43 points and earning himself a 1.5 cut in handicap to 15.1. In second place, 5 points behind was Pete Davis. Results…
Golden Jubilee
Early autumn but very pleasant conditions greeted competitors for the third Jubilee competition. Continuing good form established in last week’s President’s Putter, Tim Meyer was the clear winner on 68, two ahead of early clubhouse leaders Phil Flanagan and Chris Jones. Best lady just 3 off the winner was Sheena Harrington 71. Results…

News of a hole-in-one for Mike Shabani playing a match at the 189-yard 10th filtered quickly to members in the clubhouse and a tab at the bar opened to welcome and toast Mike. Well done indeed Mike!
President’s Putter
The President again proffered a drink on him for those who beat his score and then proceeded to return one of his best scores to ensure it didn’t empty his wallet! Only 4 people beat his score of 38.
Probably just as well for the ladies that Ray Esin didn’t make the Bontor yesterday as he was the runaway winner with 44 points, earning him a handicap cut of 2.4. In second place and 5 points behind was Paul Patching. The men received one additional shot today. Results…
John Fordham recorded two 2s and having scored just 9 points on the front 9 upped his game somewhat on the back 9 for 23 points, just pipped by Ray’s 24.
Tim also won his ‘nearest the pin in 2 on the 17th for the men, with Fiona Coombe, taking the ladies’ nearest-in-two prize on the 18th.

RPGC Open
There was barely a breath of wind to start and the clubhouse ‘lake’ was as still as a millpond – but sweaters were needed for the early games.
Allan Richardson of Putney Park was the clear and deserved winner with a two over par net 69. RPGC gained 2nd and 3rd places with Toby Hunt and Nigel Ward 70s. Best lady was Gina Jillett net 74. After play, Gina and Ed Henery went on to win their mixed pairs match 8 & 7 on Prince’s. Results…

Monthly Medals
Distinctly autumnal conditions greeted competitors. For many this meant shedding shorts and donning sweaters for the first time in a long while. As the sun eventually broke through, orographic cloud built and a heavy shower further increased the challenge.
Ladies
Susan Smith emerged the clear winner with 67, three ahead of rivals Lia and Gina. Susan earns a handicap reduction with a 7 at par 3 11th reduced to 6 for handicapping purposes (and obliterated from memory with a birdie at 16th for a birdie par par storming finish. Results…

Remarkably good scoring prevailed with 11 at or better than SSS 67. A remarkable 62 from Graham Terry clinched the medal ahead of 64s from Pete Harrison and Liam Bridger. Four 65s followed including one from in-form captain Jon. CSS was reduced to 66 from SSS 67. Results…
