The Hawtree competition took place on 3 May on a brilliant sunshine day. The format was mixed Greensomes.
The club was represented by Amy Hocking, Ed Henery, Maureen Vincent-Slade and Richard Owen at Richmond Park. Val Riziotis, Paul Brown, Rianda Markram and James Barker represented the club at Hoebridge Golf Club.
It was a close run affair at Richmond Park as Amy and Ed won their match by 3 points and Maureen and Richard narrowly lost their match. James and Rianda won their match by a single point whilst Val and Paul came up against an in-form home team who ran away with the match.
The final result was 125-112. It was a really fun day and thank you to all the players for representing the club.
New Lockie Trophy Winner
There is a new winner, Val Riziotis, who has won the Lockie Trophy for 2014. Many congratulations Val and well done.
As Lady Captain, I apologise for the error on my part in misunderstanding the scoring system. Val won the trophy on having the better back 18 (not back 9) on the second day of a 36 hole competition. A well deserved win and a second time holder of the trophy. I bet you can’t wait for it to adorn your shelves Val. Results…
Shaw Cup
Taking advantage of the considerably better day weather-wise than was forecast were Danny Deprez and Jim Fogarty, both scoring 42 points and the only two to get any handicap reduction (0.3 for both). Danny took the honours on the back 9 from Jim in second place. Results…
Ray Esin playing right at the back of the field, certainly had a game of two halves, with a mere 11 points on the front 9 that was followed by a very impressive 28 on the back 9. Hard to believe they are the same 9 holes.

Clapham Common – Rd 1 v Brent Valley A
Result: 143-130
Our team of Tim, Pete D, James, Toby, Paul B, Richard, Brett and Pete Harrison played a strong Brent Valley A team in both a home and away leg.
Scoring from both our home and away pairings was consistently strong across the board. A battling team performance enabled us to emerge victors by 143 points to 130 points. Some impressive golf played by our guys without a doubt.
We are looking forward to taking on the challenge of our next opponents either Ruislip or Wexham Park in the next round. Well done Guys.
