Bogey / Committee Cup Rd 2
Ladies
What a difference a week makes! From woolly hats and lots of layers to sun cream and shorts for the second round of the Committee Cup.
The scoring was only marginally improved for all bar the leader after round one. To add to our challenges, this was the first round on the changes to holes 7-11, new stroke indices and a SSS 69 and resulted in a reduction only round.
Sheena Harrington was the leader on the day, but Veronica Mitchell maintained her first round lead to win the Committee Cup with scores of 38 and 30 by a margin of 7 shots from last year’s winner Lia Donath. Only 6 ladies completed both rounds of this competition. Results…

Summer Cup / Committee Cup Rd 1
Ladies
Another unseasonably cold and windy day (at least in this reporter’s view) resulted in winter-like scoring with the exception of Veronica Mitchell, who obviously enjoyed the day, romping into an 8 shot lead for the first round of the Committee Cup with 38 points. In second place, and with much to do in round 2 to catch Veronica, is Doreen Dolby on 30 points, with Lia Donath and Joan Mulcahy one further shot behind. Results…

Monthly Medal
Ladies
With the return of winter like conditions came a reduction only (QRO) round for the ladies, which was also rather unfortunately the qualifying round for the NAPGC medal competition.
Only three gross scores below a 100 were recorded, with the lowest also giving Jayne Maxwell the best net to win the May monthly medal with a net 78. The only other lady to achieve a net score in the 70s was Maureen Slade on net 79 to make her the runner-up. Results…
Men
Paul Cook secured another victory with a net 70 on a day where most found it difficult to score. Paul is now cut to a Category 1 player – well done Paul. Three 71s battled for second place with Cuneyt Sazer winning on count back from Toby Hunt and Matt Mandelbaum. Results…

Spring Mixed
This year’s Spring Mixed had an excellent turn out and some good scoring in the cool conditions. Kate Emmanuel and Ed Henery won with 41 points beating Gina Jillett and Stewart McDonald on count back. Anne Holding-Parsons and Jon Cooper were third with 40 points and Cheryl Woodhouse and Richard Owen fourth with 39. Everyone stayed afterwards for some drinks and food and for an enjoyable social get together marred only by a slight shortage of chicken sandwiches. Results…
Sweep
Average spring conditions without sunshine allowed competitors to focus on golf, but many found the greens tricky.
Men received two shots in the competition and the winner emerged as Paul Appleton with 40 points with Darrin siankoski runner-up 38. Leading lady was Lia on 36 from Cheryl on a count back, both with 36 points. Results…
