The intrepid competitors played hard on a dry course where the ball was running fast and in 30 degree temperatures. It was a small (but quality) group of players who all had fun on the day.

Whitewebbs – Rd 1 at Hoebridge
Result: Loss 3-2
Harriet, Di, Veronica, Cheryl and Susan played against Hoebridge Ladies who were the finalist last year.
It was a closely contested match that went right up to the last game, but sadly we lost 3-2 to an extremely tough opposition. Harriet and Cheryl held their own very convincingly winning 3-2 and 5-4 respectively.
Well done to everyone for coming so close against a very good team.

Mitcham Ladies – Away Leg
Result: Win 4-0
It was a cloudy, but warm and windy day on the 5th of June when the Richmond ladies made their annual trek to Croydon to play against the Mitcham ladies.
The team comprised:
Veronica Mitchell & Norma Lynch
Alison Chadwick & Doreen Dolby
Kate Emmanuel & Jini Beacham
Sheena Harrington & Johanna Doyle.
The new members of the team gave a sterling performance supporting the veterans well and helped clinch a convincing win, giving Richmond Park a great lead before the home match. The last couple of years saw Richmond Park hanging onto the “Rich Mitch†trophy by securing a draw, so this away victory has ensured that we keep the trophy for yet another year.
Everyone enjoyed their matches and the lovely meal afterwards especially the enormous lemon meringue pie.
Thank you ladies and well done. Let’s make sure that we win this trophy outright this year!
Platinum Jubilee
Ursula Sahli proved the worthy winner in testing windy conditions with a glorious 65 (net 62 for the competition). Two shots behind was Jon Cooper and 3rd Graeme Syme with 68. Lady Secretary Cheryl Woodhouse was clearly suited to the conditions coming 4th on 69. Results…
CSS reflected the conditions, being elevated to 70 from SSS 68.
In the Junior Section, Ahmed al-Bader put in a good card thanks to a very good front 9 and has been cut to 44 from 45.
