Skins
A skins format produced 5 different winners over the 18 holes of the Dukes course. A stableford score was used on each hole to determine the skin. Results…
Eleven holes not producing a skin were tied in 3 points, sometimes there were numerous 3 pointers and occasionally just two. One hole, the 12th, was tied in 4 points from both Lee Eden and Steve Cross.

Spring S’ford Rd 2 / Spring Meeting BB
Ladies
Seven pairs of ladies took part in today’s 4 ball better ball. Despite a muddy start, the weather held up with a few glimpses of sunshine and did not deter the winning pair of Julie Smith and Gina Jillett who scored a whopping 43 stableford points. There was only a one point difference between the 2nd and 3rd place at 39 stableford and 38 stableford respectively. Results…

Spring S’ford Rd 1 / Spring Meeting Medal
Ladies
A glorious day greeted 10 Ladies competing in the Spring Meeting Medal round. The course was dry although putting was challenging with fork marks and some sand on the greens. A pleasant but at time windy spring day saw moderate scoring and for some time Captain Gurpal Sekhon as early clubhouse leader seemed the inevitable winner. There was speculation of a ‘reduction only’ round.

A pleasant early Spring day saw some truly incredible scoring from Nick Rogers and Mike Smeal fro their 61s. Nick was out in 1 over par and Mike had a very tidy 38 in and out keeping a six off his card. Winner on the back 9 was Mike. Toby Hunt again illustrated his consistency coming 3rd with 65. Results…

Ladies
Although the weather continues to be cold with snow and rain, ten ladies turned out to play the third round of the Eclectic competition on the Duke’s course.

The winner on a back 3 count back was John Morris from Richard Kenwood – both 39 points. Third was Jim Deissler 38 and 4th Toby Hunt. Playing inspired golf (no doubt from his net 60 the previous week), John made the galleries come alight with a hole in one at the 9th – and treated fellow competitors to the customary drink afterwards in the clubhouse. The high incidence of Category 1-3 players returning within 2 of SSS 66 (38), CSS was actually reduced to 65 (increased to 39 points) with the unusual result of no handicaps being reduced, even to decimal places.
