Club Rule - Competition Entry

There has been some confusion recently concerning the Club rule for competition entries on a Sunday and this notice is being issued to clarify the arrangements.

Except for those rare days when normal play is not possible the Club arranges one or more events every Sunday for all members. It is a rule of the Club that all members who play on a Sunday within the Club’s booking allocation are automatically entered for the event of the day unless (a) a member is playing in a Club match or NAPGC competition or similar event, or (b) a member is playing in a Club knockout event, or (c) a member has a dispensation from an Officer from the Committee.

Every member who plays in the event of the day is obliged to pay the relevant competition entry fee which is typically £1. Members who forget the pay the competition entry fee or those who arrive late and cannot pay in the normal manner are still automatically entered for the day’s event and are obliged to pay the entry fee at a later date if necessary.

There is no obligation to enter the sweep for the day. A member who forgets to enter a sweep will not be included retroactively.
