2002 Recommendation - Ball Marking

This summer the N.A.P.G.C. has been requesting competitors in the national events to individually mark their golf balls with some form of personal identification.

The Committee has considered this practice and has decided that it has merit.

The Committee has decided therefore to recommend that members ensure that their golf balls have some form of distinguishable identification mark in order to avoid confusion with plain golf balls of the same type.

It is hoped that this measure will eliminate uncertainty concerning golf ball recognition on the course, and it is also expected that this practice will reduce the incidence of members’ golf balls being played in error by other golfers.
