The Ladies Section plays a friendly match against Mitcham Golf Club every year consisting of separate home and away legs. Each leg is four games of doubles 4-ball better-ball match play. The overall winner of the two matches claims the Mitcham ~ RPGC trophy for the year.

The Ladies Captain posts a notice on the Club notice board for those wishing to sign up for either leg of the match. Alternatively, you can contact the Lady Captain directly to register your interest in playing.

Home Leg Report

A sterling performance was put in by all members of the team for what were very lengthy 5 hour rounds of golf.

Both of the first 2 pairings were 4 down after 9 holes but pulled it back in both cases to win their matches. Sheena & Jini had a much easier time when one of their opposition appeared to be on another planet for much of the day leaving the higher handicapped lady to attempt it all on her own.

It fell to Lia & Doreen to meet Mitcham's secret weapon for 2004 - a newcomer to golf who achieved her first handicap of 23 at the beginning of the year is down to 16 already and has given up work to play golf and get down to scratch. Perhaps on the return leg her purple patch will have worn off a bit!

So if we can manage a draw in the return leg, the Rich-Mitch trophy will return to its rightful home.

Our very enjoyable post-match meal was again held at the Dysart, and with the Mitcham ladies making the most of the very generous pudding portions they quickly forgot their defeat at our hands.
