The course
Opened in 1923 by HRH Prince of Wales, the Prince's Course was built to provide the public with an opportunity to enjoy a fine golf course within London, at a time when golf was very exclusive. It proved so popular that two years later the Duke's Course was built.
Club history
Richmond Park Golf Club was formed in the Spring of 1924 by a group of enthusiasts who had commenced to play on the newly opened public golf courses in Richmond Park. Mr. J. Hume, Mrs. Millidge, Mr. H. Lissaman, Mr. E. Bailey and Mr. Josh Taylor were amongst the founder members.
