Drop Off Tees
(Previous rule)

As a result of a decision change by the new courses operator the requirement to ‘Drop Off Tees’ has been reinstated.

The following Local Rule has been reintroduced:

Ground Under Repair

  • All tee grounds (except the one in play) are areas of Ground Under Repair from which play is prohibited. If a player’s ball lies in the area, or if it interferes with the player’s stance or the area of his intended swing, the player MUST take relief under Rule 25-1.

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULE:
Matchplay - Loss of hole.
Stroke play - Two strokes.

For the purposes of this rule, a ‘tee ground’ is the starting place for the hole to be played. It is the flat mown rectangular teeing area on which the tee markers are normally placed. The sides of tees are not part of the tee ground.
