Saturday 21st April was a gloriously sunny day and the Dukes course looked splendid with mown fairways and well defined semi-rough and rough.

As beautiful as it looked, the course was anything but easy to play as the scores in the Spring Mixed Foursomes demonstrated. Only Julie Smyth and Stan Potts came anywhere near to terms with the lush rough and hard, quick greens and their 33 points was more than enough to secure them a well deserved victory.

Lagging behind in second place on 29 points was Sheena Harrington, handicapped with being partnered by Jon Cooper, and third place went to Roz Lake and Ian Smith with 27 points.

The event finished with a very enjoyable social get together in the sunshine and a couple of drinks to round the day off.
