On a cool but fine morning 13 teams teed off on Dukes Course for this year’s Mens Invitation. There was soon excitement when Maureen Slade got a hole-in-one at the third and pocketed the 5 stableford points for herself and her partner, Tim Meyer. However we had to wait until the last two pairs finished up to find that these pairs had scooped the 1st and 2nd places.

The results were announced after the assembled players had enjoyed a veritable banquet of food arranged by Gurpal and prepared and delivered by his charming wife.

Clear winners were Paul Grand & Lia Donath (37 points), runners up were Dave Keen & Julie Smyth (34 points), and third were Jack & Ann Koychev (33 points) – on count back from Kerry Sargeant & Tracy Wright.
