Results

This year’s Spring Mixed competition was held on Saturday 12th April. For some reason the date clashed with all sorts of prior events for the ladies and we were limited to 6 pairs. Apologies to the men who enquired – it was done on a strictly first come first served basis.

On the day the general consensus was that a slow foursomes competition would not be attractive and since the Hawtree competition has now dropped foursomes their new better ball format was used and everyone agreed it was an enjoyable way to play.

What the ladies lacked in quantity they made up for in quality and some good scores were posted. The winners were Maureen Slade and Richard Owen with 39 points and the runners up were Doreen Dolby and Toby Hunt on 37.
