Local Rule

Preferred Lies for Landraise Holes

NB:  The following Club rule applies to the Duke’s holes 3 and 8, and the Prince’s holes 1, 4, 7, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18.

A ball lying on a closely mown area through the green may be lifted, without penalty, and cleaned. Before lifting the ball, the position of the ball must be marked. With the ball having been lifted it must placed on a spot within one club length of and not nearer the hole than where it originally lay, and not in a hazard and not on a putting green. A player may place his ball only once and it is in play when it has been placed.

NB:  Failure to mark the position of the ball before lifting the ball, such as ‘rolling’ the ball with a club, incurs a penalty of one stroke.

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULE:

Match play: Loss of hole
Stoke play: Two strokes

Please note that this rule applies until notification of cancellation is given.
