Ladies SPRING Weekend Away - Report
8-10 April

This year 24 of us went to Dale Hill in the High Weald on the East Sussex/Kent border.

The courses lived up to their location with lovely views. We played the more challenging Ian Woosnam course twice, it was rather soggy under foot due to heavy rain on Thursday night but at least the days were largely dry. By the time we played the Old Course on the Sunday conditions were much better and it was a lovely sunny day.

The winner of the ladies 36 hole competition and the lovely Lockie Trophy was Deborah Potter with a grand total of 65 points, comfortably ahead of her nearest rivals Gina Jillett and Jayne Maxwell both with 58 points.

The men's winner was Stephen Mason with 58 points pipping Martin Heinrich the first day leader who came second with 57 points.

Thank you to Veronica who organised our stay and the games order and managed to secure loads of prize money that was used not only to cover a number of bottles of alcohol to present to the winners, but also wine to go with dinner on Saturday night and a healthy tip for the hotel staff.
