Ladies Autumn Weekend Away - Report
23-25 September

The ladies autumn weekend away got off to an inauspicious start when we went to check-in after getting soaked on the golf course. Many arrived at a very busy reception to be told that the rooms were not yet ready and it would be 5.30pm, another half-hour away. However, the provision of a half-bottle of wine per head at dinner, procured for us by Gill, went a long way to make amends accompanied by an excellent buffet.

The weather for the remainder of the weekend was warm and dry and the two courses at Five Lakes proved to be a good challenge for most of us. Cheryl Woodhouse having played well on Saturday maintained her good form on Sunday, coming out the overall winner, taking home a magnum of champagne. With the size of the group for this trip, the competition was a joint one for the men and women, with honours being shared when Ian Smith took 2nd place.

Thanks went to Gill Hibbs and Di Jackett for the successful organisation of the weekend.
