Gill Hibbs Golf day - Report
5
September
60 members of Richmond Park were treated to a golf day by our late friend and member, Gill Hibbs.
The weather tried its best to dampen our spirits and keep scores down, but in a normal resilient fashion we all soldiered on to the 19th to endure the hardship of a champagne reception, dinner and prize giving!
Jack Koychev made a moving speech when receiving his prize for top scoring man of the day with 36 points. Second place went to Tim Meyer with 35 points.
Congratulations to Michele Mair who was the highest scoring lady of the day and scored 36 points and second was Anne Koychev with 30 points.
The team prize went to David Keen, Julian James, John Ahad and Stanley Hunt while the nearest the pin winners were Di Jackett, Lia Donath, Stan Potts and Stanley Hunt. The speed putting competition was won jointly by Richard Kenwood and Jim Wooldridge.
Never before has the club been the recipient of such a generous bequest, which enabled us to be brought together to play golf and socialise. It was a particularly unique, enjoyable and extremely memorable occasion.
Thanks to all those who helped organise the day ... and of course, God Bless Gill.
