Ladies SPRING Weekend Away - Report
28-30 March

Donnington Grove provided a challenging golf course in the conditions.

Friday saw driving rain and strong winds making scoring a very tricky affair. The first four-ball off the course was not to know that they were the real winners of the day, getting the only hot baths from the limited water supply. Dinner was surprisingly good and the staff friendly and helpful.

Saturday dawned where Friday left off. Cold, windy and wet. Intrepid golfers donned their damp wetsuits and set off into the rain again. Again the food and staff saved the day.

Sunday found a few of the golfers rather worse for wear. Not, as normally, due to the late night excesses at the bar, but more down to the cold and wet conditions. A few had to leave early and take their aches and pains back to London. The rest prepared to play the final round only to be told that no trolleys were allowed and that the buggies were all taken. Not the place you would want to carry a trolley bag around. After some persuading and cajoling, the pro managed to find enough buggies, ranger carts and so forth to get most of the bags around. A big thanks to the few intrepid men who carried on the Sunday!

The weather had eased and the sun came out and the course was rather good! It was a real shame that some of the members missed playing on Sunday as the course really redeemed itself.

There were lorry loads of prizes as always! The main winners for the weekend were as follows.
