Summer Fixture List
Printable PDF File

I am pleased to release the full fixture programme that takes us through to the end of the year. 2009 Fixture List...

As we progress through the year it may be necessary to reschedule some of the events and wherever possible we will give advance notice of any changes. You can keep up with fixture changes here.

There are a couple of points that I wish to highlight:

  • Many of you will spot immediately that the spring knockout qualifiers are not listed. This is because we are breaking with tradition and we are allowing an open entry to all the matchplay knockout events. Full details of the knockouts will follow in a few days and it will be possible to lodge your entries by email or via entry sheets that will be available in the portacabin.
  • If a week is marked as a "TBA" have no fear because there will be an event of some sort. We have some TBA days recorded in the early part of the season as a consequence of the decision to drop the knockout qualifiers and we are presently considering various options for these days.
  • You need to mark off in your diary Friday 1st May !! John Morris has arranged for us to have our first awayday of 2009 at Epsom Golf Club and from what I have seen so far this is going to be another superb Club day. Details of the Epsom day will be issued shortly but for the moment I recommend that you get some red ink in the diary - it is of course the Friday before the May Day bank holiday.
  • Summer time begins for us on Sunday 29th March. This is mentioned not just for the obvious reason that we all lose a precious hour, but more significantly the Club moves over to the 'summer playing order'. When we move to the summer sequence we will have 7 men's games in front of the ladies' group and the remaining men's games will start around game 13. In order to confirm the 'check-in' time for your game it is always best to jump into the Club's website and take a peek at the weekly booking sheet data.
  • I realise that our wintry weather has not been very appetising for golf however we have witnessed something of an improvement during last two Sundays, and I have my fingers crossed that we will start to see some much brighter weather soon.

If anyone has any queries with the fixture list please don't hesitate to shout.

Regards

Peter Harrington
